Six Days Shalt Thou Labor

I read in a book recently (I’m not sure what book) that God created the Sabbath to be a gift and blessing for us. This has given me a new perspective on what it means to keep the Sabbath. Do the things I do on the Sabbath show my gratitude for the gift? Do the things I do help others to be able to receive the gift of the Sabbath in their lives?

Mosiah 13 – Abinadi Recites The Ten Commandments

16 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 17 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; 18 But the seventh day, the sabbath of the Lord thy God, thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; 19 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is; wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
