Gratitude Given Imperfectly – A Thanksgiving Habit, Day 1

I almost let it slide by again. Every year I say I want to take the time each day of November to express thanks for someone or something that has been a blessing in my life, and nearly every single year I forget to start on the proper day and so I sigh and say, “Oh well. Maybe I’ll get it right next year.” How dumb is that? I just abandon a month of good things because I miss one or two days? Someone wake me up and give me a good finger-wagging.

So here I am. It’s November 1st and I’m thankful that I remembered this year and that I’ve actually realized that “Gratitude given imperfectly, still blesses my life.” (To borrow and twist a quote from Flylady – you’ll notice I wrote it in purple, I’m sure she’d appreciate that.)

We have a whole month of Thank-You Days ahead of us. Each day I will think of one thing I am giving thanks for and write a little about it here. If you’d like to join me, you are welcome to post your gratefulness in the comments section. If not, I will go on being grateful for new things each day and maybe it will strengthen someone else.

winner-winner, chicken dinner 🙂
