The starting gun has sounded and the NaNoWriMo horse has left the gates! I have spent most of this day so far figuring out exactly where I’m going with this whole novel writing business. I needed an idea that I didn’t think was just too lame to do. I’ve found an idea (not telling it) and I’m running with it. Yes, it may still be lame, but I hope not too lame.
If my posts here seem to drop off a little, the likely reason why is that I’ve hit a glitch or a moment of intense inspiration and have to get it right and on paper (well OK, computer). This is actually a kind of scary prospect for me. I’ve never done anything like this before and first-times can be scary. Part of me feels I’ve jumped off a cliff and I’m yelling, “Wheeeee!! I’m flying!!!!….Oh no! What-do-I-do? What-do-I-do? What-do-I-do? What-do-I-do?” Too late now, the only way is… down – oops, bad metaphor. Think positive thoughts. Positive thoughts…
winner-winner, chicken dinner 🙂
P.S. It’s a good thing you can eat out really cheap in China. I have a feeling we’re going to be really sick of Chinese food before this is done.
