This coming weekend is the semiannual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I’m so excited! It is wonderful to have a chance to hear wise words that God gives to our church leaders – good men who do their best to represent Him and teach about His love, and of the great love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
This chapter I read today is like a General Conference gathering around the temple, like King Benjamin’s people did earlier in the Book of Mormon (in the book of Mosiah). For a second I thought how cool it would be if these days we gathered around the temple for General Conference. And then I was like, “Duh, look where the LDS Conference Center is. Salt Lake City Temple Square. ” Some days my brain works faster than others. Goodness.
3 Nephi 11 “1 And now it came to pass that there were a great multitude gathered together, of the people of Nephi, round about the temple which was in the land Bountiful; and they were marveling and wondering one with another, and were showing one to another the great and marvelous change which had taken place. 2 And they were also conversing about this Jesus Christ, of whom the sign had been given concerning his death.” https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/11?verse=1-2&lang=eng#p1
