This feels like a glance at the past. My town is experiencing a housing boom. 

Reading Alma 49 (Book of Mormon) today. 

Sometimes the measures our church leaders ask us to take to teach our children (and ourselves) to put on the whole armor of God might seem extreme (or at least extremely difficult) and we wonder why it’s necessary. But God knows what is coming our way and wants us to be prepared.

“4 But behold, how great was their (the attacking Lamanites) disappointment; for behold, the Nephites had dug up a ridge of earth round about them, which was so high that the Lamanites could not cast their stones and their arrows at them that they might take effect, neither could they come upon them save it was by their place of entrance.”
