I read this talk today and it struck me as a beautiful thought. It seems like a huge task sometimes to become holy, when that is exactly the opposite of what most of the world encourages. And yet, reading this, I couldn’t help but think how wonderful it would be if more of us actually tried. Working toward holiness doesn’t require insta-perfection, it only requires that we try, and when we falter, we readjust and try again. It’s worth trying, I think.
“Heavenly Father has given each of us the capacity to become holy. May we do our best to keep our covenants and take the Holy Ghost as our guide. With faith in Jesus Christ, we become saints through His Atonement, that we may receive immortality and eternal life and give God our Father the glory due His name. May our lives ever be a sacred offering, that we may stand before the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
