I’ve spent a lot of time the last few days planning and setting up my Bullet Journal for 2017. (Google it. It’s awesome.)
Because of that, I haven’t been putting a lot of thought into blogging. Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end, and help me keep track of all the things I have going on.
My scripture thoughts today are going to be pretty obscure if you don’t belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I’m not trying to exclude anyone by it, but it’s where I’m reading and it made me think some fresh thoughts this morning (amazing how that happens when you read and reread the scriptures). I’ll get more coherent as the week goes on.

Ether 1
I wonder if this part is showing us a line of priesthood authority and keys. Jared seems to be the leader of the family (or the ruler) and his brother seems to be the prophet (or leader of the church). Jared, the ruler, shows great vision and faith in his requests, but he always turns to his brother to lead in spiritual matters. It reminds me of when Nephi went to his father after the broken bow incident.
“And the brother of Jared being a large and mighty man, and a man highly favored of the Lord, Jared, his brother, said unto him: Cry unto the Lord, that he will not confound us that we may not understand our words.”
