Snowblowers, Elephants, and Forgiveness – Not Related, But On My Mind

Guess what? The stores are all out of snowblowers! Surprise, surprise.

Why did the elephant paint his toenails red?—— So he could hide in a cherry tree and people would think they were cherries.

Have you ever seen an elephant in a cherry tree? —— It works, doesn’t it?

Why won’t an elephant eat fruit cocktail? —— Because he thinks the cherries are toenails.

3 Nephi 30
It is amazing to me how base and vile the sins of people can be, yet the Lord can list them all and then say, “Repent, and come unto me…” and he stands there with arms outstretched, ready to make us whole. It’s a blessing to bow down and be grateful for. The really challenging part, I think, is to be equally willing to stand back and watch with gratitude, as the atonement performs its work in the lives of those who may have wronged us.

2 Turn, all ye Gentiles, from your wicked ways; and repent of your evil doings, of your lyings and deceivings, and of your whoredoms, and of your secret abominations, and your idolatries, and of your murders, and your priestcrafts, and your envyings, and your strifes, and from all your wickedness and abominations, and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, that ye may receive a remission of your sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, that ye may be numbered with my people who are of the house of Israel.
