Today’s #lighttheworld theme for Day 16 is Jesus Showed Compassion for Others and So Can You.

I did today’s service, but I’d prefer to focus on how others showed compassion to me today. I haven’t been feeling well lately, so it was a real blessing when my sister-in-law, who is staying with us over the holidays, did the dishes for me this morning. Then later, Meigi did me a huge favor for doing all the food prep for making lasagna tomorrow morning for our family Christmas party, then she made a cake for the same party, then she cooked our family dinner. Mostly today, I’ve been a potato. My head is all stuffy and I haven’t had the energy to do much. It meant a lot to me to have so much help.

I love that my regular scripture reading brought me to these verses today, while we are in the middle of #lighttheworld.

Matthew 5:14-16

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
