Patience and Gratitude – Good Things to Work On

Don’t you love how these smart phone cameras can make you look all polished up, with a near-perfect complexion? I have to admit, I’m much more willing to take selfies these days than I used to be.

We had a Personal Progress Letter P Party tonight where we wore things that started with the letter P and had treats that started with P.  We had popcorn, pizza, pie, and purple grape juice, among other things. I dyed part of my hair pink (temporarily), and wore a pink shirt and socks. Some other people wore purple and polka dots. It was a lot of fun.

I read this today while working on a Personal Progress Experience (Divine Nature #1). I have plenty of improving to do, but I love the great hope that these verses convey as well. I love that they remind me that I can ask God for the things I need – even some of these qualities – and He will help me. What a gift!

Alma 7

“23 And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive. 24 And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.”
