Quit Whining and Pay Attention

Wild snap dragons growing in the desert. Who’d have thought?

I’ve been wrestling with a high level of frustration and irritation the last few days, besides being out of town over the weekend. Combined, those things made posting here difficult. Anyway, today’s devotional time helped, at least a little.

Today I read Alma 12, in the Book of Mormon.

This verse gives a really good reason to quit whining and pay attention. Because, you know, some days it’s hard to understand what in the world is going on. If I can just remember to listen carefully and do what God tells me, a bad day might get a little better, if only because I have a better attitude.

“And now Alma began to expound these things unto him, saying: It is given unto many to know the mysteries of God; nevertheless they are laid under a strict command that they shall not impart only according to the portion of his word which he doth grant unto the children of men, according to the heed and diligence which they give unto him.” https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/12?verse=9&lang=eng#p9
