Retaining A Remembrance Of God’s Blessings

I love how these flowers just seem to reflect back the brightness of the sun.

What a beautiful day it was! Today I read in Alma 5, of the Book of Mormon and it made me think about the importance of remembering. Isn’t that such an integral part of gratitude? The more I consider this, the more significant it is to me.

It’s so important to remember the many ways God has blessed our lives in the past. I think that’s probably part of the reason we are counseled by church leaders to keep a journal, and it’s also why reading the scriptures matters so much. I know that doing those things helps me to remember to rely on God and know that when some times are hard, there are good times that will come. God will see me through both if I can remember what he has done in the past.

Alma 5:6

“And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, you that belong to this church, have you sufficiently retained in remembrance the captivity of your fathers? Yea, and have you sufficiently retained in remembrance his mercy and long-suffering towards them? And moreover, have ye sufficiently retained in remembrance that he has delivered their souls from hell?”
