Reading 2 Nephi 28
Wo unto them that turn aside the just for a thing of naught and revile against that which is good, and say that it is of no worth!

This happens so much now it seems. I sometimes have to fight against my own tendency to hide my gifts and talents, as well as my beliefs because I don’t want to be mocked for those things. I worry that my efforts or my words are inadequate to counter criticism, and so I shade my light rather than letting it shine.
It occurs to me that this is a form of turning aside the just for a thing of naught. It’s a lukewarm attitude and not any more pleasing to God than if I joined the mockers and revilers. I guess recognizing a weakness is the first step in strengthening and overcoming it. Press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, right?
