Reading 2 Nephi 10
It feels like this is continuously the lesson du jour for me. I learn it and then Heavenly Father says, “Well done. Do it again. That’s good. Now try it facing this other way.”
Also, I think this is a good verse to link to 2 Nephi 25:23 and the frequently misunderstood “after all you can do” phrase. The “after” refers to being reconciled to God, not to any idea of earning our way into Heaven, or somehow paying for any portion of our own sins. Only Jesus Christ can cover for us there.
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.”
