I Am Blessed To Know Godly Men and Women

What a long and crazy day it’s been. I’m glad I started it out with scripture study. As it was, I felt like I was barely keeping myself together. Then Meigi reminded me that I could always call my home teachers to come give me a blessing. I felt in that moment that God was speaking through her directly to my heart. I called them right away and the blessing they gave me was exactly what I needed.

1 Nephi 12

It is our pride that puts us in the building and the word of Justice that creates such a seemingly uncrossable gulf between us and the love of God (the tree of life). The word of Justice will cause us to suffer the pain of our sins until we reach a point where we can feel godly sorrow for our sins and desire to seize hold of the atonement and word unto repentance. Lehi and Nephi never mention seeing a bridge across the gulf, but I think there must be one. It represents humble repentance and the atonement.

“And the large and spacious building, which thy father saw, is vain imaginations and the pride of the children of men. And a great and a terrible gulf divideth them; yea, even the word of the justice of the Eternal God, and the Messiah who is the Lamb of God, of whom the Holy Ghost beareth record, from the beginning of the world until this time, and from this time henceforth and forever.”
