Jesus Worshiped the Father and He Visited the Americas – #LightTheWorld Day 4

#LightTheWorld – Jesus Worshiped the Father, and So Can You

lighttheworld-day-4I hope you were able to go to church today. Christmas is so much more meaningful when you actively worship God and His son, Jesus Christ. Church is a good place to feel the Holy Ghost and experience the peace that Christ promised those who follow him. If you don’t experience that when you go to church, I encourage you to talk with a church leader about how you might be able to change that.

For those who may not know, The Book of Mormon tells the story of Jesus Christ’s visit to people in the Americas. The place I am currently reading coincides perfectly with this time of year. All the Christians have been waiting for the sign of Jesus’s birth, but they are outnumbered by non-believers, and the non-believers have decided that anyone foolish enough to believe in a savior should be put to death the next day unless the sign the Christians had been hoping for came to pass. Nephi, the prophet of their time, spent the whole day in fervent prayer, and I imagine that other believers were praying too. God then told Nephi that this was the day that another prophet had foretold. The Christians went from praying hard and sweating bullets (I know they didn’t have those then, just go with it), to having a huge birthday party. Because hey, a day and a night and a day with no darkness, who’s gonna sleep?

This is such a great place to be reading now!

Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 1

Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets. 14 Behold, I come unto my own, to fulfil all things which I have made known unto the children of men from the foundation of the world, and to do the will, both of the Father and of the Son—of the Father because of me, and of the Son because of my flesh. And behold, the time is at hand, and this night shall the sign be given.
