I know it seems like a contradiction to post all this scripture-Jesus-loves-you-follow-him-stuff and then do a bunch of happy Halloween pictures. BUT we had so much fun meeting and getting to know some of our neighbors that we never would have met otherwise.

I know I get all churchy here on my blog, because that’s pretty much who I am, but I absolutely love getting to know all kinds of people, churchy or not. Halloween festivities are, to my way of thinking, a great way to get to know more of the all kinds of people out there. We live in a relatively safe community where the whole trick-or-treat thing is still a big deal. (Who was the upstager neighbor handing out full-size candy bars? Sheesh! Seriously though, good move, Daddy Warbucks.)

This is our first Halloween in this house and we wanted to do something awesome, so we hosted our first annual pancake bash with crazy toppings, hot chocolate, and spiced cider. I’m guessing we had about 120 people come by and it was a BLAST!

It’s important to not only fast and pray when we need things, but also to do it as a show of gratitude for our blessings.
1 Behold, now it came to pass that the people of Nephi were exceedingly rejoiced, because the Lord had again delivered them out of the hands of their enemies; therefore they gave thanks unto the Lord their God; yea, and they did fast much and pray much, and they did worship God with exceedingly great joy.
Sounds like great fun! Like the artwork as well.
