Alma describes the people of Ammon (the converted Lamanites, who had once been their enemies) this way, “They were distinguished for their zeal towards God.” No wonder their young men were so faithful and stalwart when they chose to help fight the Lamanites. No wonder they did not doubt. Their mothers (and fathers) had truly had their faith in God tested in the furnace of affliction. They had seen, or been a part of, the mass conversion of those who had been their enemies. What a community to live in, where people kept their covenants with such dedication!
27 And they were among the people of Nephi, and also numbered among the people who were of the church of God. And they were also distinguished for their zeal towards God, and also towards men; for they were perfectly honest and upright in all things; and they were firm in the faith of Christ, even unto the end.
