(Read and Follow the Directions)
One of the greatest things about having Meigi home now, is listening to her talk about memories from her mission. The stories leak out at random times as small things trigger some wave of culture shock or tenderness about an event. It could be something as ordinary to us as opening the refrigerator, or filling a glass from a faucet and having clean water come out.
The greatest thing to hear, though, is the deep love in her heart for the people she served in Panama. I’m so proud of the way she acclimated to the culture and the living conditions, especially when living in the San Blas Islands.
One of the things I look forward to enjoying with her is the upcoming General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hearing those inspired words from the leaders of our church is a great way to get your footing for a new phase of life or to make sure you are heading in the direction that matches what God wants you to go.
Today in my scripture reading, I came across this verse, and it reminded me of how I feel listening to General Conference.
Book of Mormon, Mosiah 23:18
I love this word, nourish! It’s how I feel about General Conference when we get to be taught by living apostles and prophets.
18 Therefore they did watch over their people, and did nourish them with things pertaining to righteousness.
