Family Night this week started early. In spite of the Very High Winds, Mr. Hot Stuff took the kids to Cornbelly’s Corn Maze. I didn’t think spending two hours in the cold wind sounded so great for the cough I’m trying to get rid of so I stayed home. They seemed to have had a great time when they called and asked me to meet them at Rubios for dinner. Yum. So I put away the food I’d been making for them to serve another day and headed out the door.
After dinner, they went back out in the cold to try and find pumpkins to carve. It took them a long time before they found anything. There’s something to be said for getting out and buying your pumpkins early, but we didn’t do that so it was slim pickings.
It was too late by the time they got home to carve the pumpkins so that had to wait until Halloween Eve – last night.
We learned those warty pumpkins are Hard. Arctic Boy finally broke out the drill to carve his, and at the end, even Casi decided to use it too.

Oh, before I forget, I wanted to share this great song that my family LOVES. Happy Halloween!
