Well I didn’t go to market to buy a fat pig, but I’m home again from Hong Kong. I was offline and phone service, so though I kept up on my NaNoWriMo project, I couldn’t post to the blog.
Nano nano nano! Only NINE days left to finish my book! It’s coming well, but now I’m worried that I’ll hit the 50,000 words and the end of days, but still have a lot of story untold. Hurry, hurry, hurry!
I’ve started writing the story in a notebook. I find I can focus more on the story that way and don’t get distracted by trying to type correct punctuation. Conversational typing is not a steady, rhythmic, thing for me to keep hitting quotation marks all the time, and so I forget the trend of my story. So now I write three or four pages, hurry and type them, then write more, and then type, etc. It sounds plodding, tedious, and slow, but I’m making much better, faster progress this way, in reality. Yay! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! 35,304 words so far. That’s 300 words ahead of schedule (wooo).
winner-winner, chicken dinner 🙂
Some people think we “channel” our writing better if we do it long-hand in a notebook. Perhaps, that’s what you are experiencing.

I think it may be also that when I’m not sitting at the computer, I don’t also have Facebook, the news, blogs, and email calling my name…
