My post today is a bunch of random stuff related to nanowrimo, because I am SO doing this thing. The link above is a wonderful lifeline that gives great encouragement or at least commiseration (at this point it’s almost the same thing) so if you are doing nanowrimo too, I highly recommend it.

Also at this point in time, as I’ve wandered the lands of blogination, I have reached the conclusion that nano-ers have highly developed senses of humor. You start going through tags for nanowrimo and see what happens. (Okay, I haven’t actually done that yet, I just keep accidentally stumbling upon fellow nano-ers. Is it fate?)

So far, I’ve written 18,898 words. I alternate between thinking that whoever the idiot author is who let a riddle specialist into her book should be forced to live in China for a year (oh yeah, I already am), and thinking, “Hey, that riddle-chick comes up with some pretty good stuff, send her chocolate (alas, I ate the rest of my chocolate yesterday and will now have none until Christmas).

So in the midst of being driven up a riddle-tree by my main character, I suddenly realized today that I seem to have mis-placed my bad guy. Or maybe I just mis-understood him to begin with, oh dear! I guess I’ll need to spend a little time getting to know him better. After all, the story line has already changed three times, so who knows what could happen next. Maybe my hero is really a manipulating, narcissistic (thank you spell-check) fraud, who goes around preying on princesses disguised as kitchen chefs. Who knows? It could happen! Huh, prob’ly not. I like my hero, even if he’s almost as into riddles as the main character.

P.S. I have to keep telling myself it’s okay to write a book that Arctic Boy will hate, along with probably almost everyone else in the family, but that’s okay too, because how many of them have ever written a novel? In. A. Month. I am SO doing this. hoowah!
